Job Overview:
A reputable law firm in Baltimore, MD, is seeking an experienced Financial Services Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of expertise in areas such as lending and deposit regulatory compliance, loan transactions, and creditor rights. The role involves working with both consumer and commercial loan documentation, as well as workouts, collections, and regulatory compliance issues.

Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload related to financial services, including regulatory compliance, commercial loans, and creditors’ rights matters.
• Draft and review loan agreements, regulatory filings, and other related legal documents.
• Provide legal counsel on lending laws and regulations, ensuring compliance across various transactions.
• Handle workouts, collections, and other commercial loan-related matters.
• Engage in regular client communication, providing legal insights and strategic advice.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and assume responsibility for client relationships.
• Lead projects and take ownership of cases, including overseeing junior associates and paralegals.
• Participate in business development initiatives to expand the practice area.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in financial services law, focusing on regulatory compliance, loan transactions, and creditor rights.
• Proven experience with consumer and commercial loan documentation.
• Strong understanding of federal and state lending regulations and consumer protection laws.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and work independently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Maryland Bar (or ability to waive in) is required.
