A law firm is seeking a Mid-Senior Labor and Employment Associate Attorney for its Houston, TX office. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of substantive experience in employment-related and/or class action litigation, with a strong background in defending claims of employment discrimination, EEOC/DOL investigations, and wage and hour disputes. The candidate will also have expertise in counseling employers on compliance with federal and state employment laws, drafting workplace policies, and providing guidance on employment-related matters. Superior academic credentials, along with excellent research and writing skills, are required. GA Bar admission is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defend clients in employment discrimination, EEOC/DOL investigations, wage and hour claims, and class action lawsuits.
  • Provide counsel to employers on compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Draft, review, and revise workplace policies, employee handbooks, and other employment-related documents.
  • Advise clients on a range of employment matters, including workplace investigations, employee relations, terminations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, legal briefs, and motions for employment law issues.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and court trials.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys on litigation strategies and case management.
  • Stay informed on legal developments in employment law and advise clients on best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Must be admitted to the Georgia Bar (GA Bar admission required).
  • Experience:
    • 4-6 years of substantive experience in employment-related litigation and class action lawsuits.
    • Experience defending employment discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes, and EEOC/DOL investigations.
    • Experience counseling employers on federal and state employment law compliance.
  • Academic Credentials: Superior academic record and legal research skills.
  • Trial Work: A strong desire for trial work is preferred.

  • Experience in litigation, including employment discrimination and class action cases.

Certifications

  • GA Bar Admission: Required.
