Entry Level Immigration Attorney

Duties:

• Explain immigration concepts and offer strategic solutions to clients.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Manage a caseload of immigration cases, ensuring timely progress and client communication.
• Conduct client intake meetings with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and packets.
• Work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
• Meet with potential clients for consultations, assessing their cases and determining a strategy.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis and advice to clients on potential case benefits.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration-related cases.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of immigration law experience preferred.
• Strong team player who is eager to collaborate with colleagues and assist in case development.
• Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar in the jurisdiction of practice.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the state bar.
