A law firm located in New York, NY, is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Immigration Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in immigration law and have extensive experience handling a variety of immigration cases. This role requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage complex legal processes efficiently.

 

Duties:

  • Handle a variety of immigration law cases including: Affidavits of support filings, Asylum cases
  • Hardship waivers, Adjustment of Status and other family-based applications/petitions
  • Draft legal memorandums, affidavits, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively with USCIS, DOS, and clients regarding immigration matters
  • Manage notifications, Requests for Evidence (RFE's), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOID's), and Appeals with the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO) and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
  • Utilize case management software such as Docketwise or INSZoom for efficient case tracking and management
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys and paralegals

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a strong background in immigration law with extensive experience in family-based immigration cases
  • Should have 5 years of experience
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in drafting error-free documents and emails
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software, preferably Docketwise or INSZoom
  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases and manage deadlines effectively
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Active license to practice law in the State of New York

 

Skills:

  • Extensive experience with immigration filings, including affidavits of support, asylum cases, and hardship waivers
  • Proficiency in drafting legal memorandums and affidavits for family-based cases and hardship waivers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective communication with USCIS, DOS, and clients
  • Familiarity with handling notifications, RFE's, NOID's, and Appeals with the AAO and BIA
  • Proficiency in using case management software such as Docketwise or INSZoom
  • Strong organizational and time management
