Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly motivated and experienced attorney to join its growing team specializing in property-casualty and first-party property claims. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant experience and a passion for litigation. This opportunity offers the flexibility to work remotely with occasional on-site requirements. You will play a crucial role in handling complex cases and providing support to clients in both state and federal courts. Duties:

  • Handle property-casualty and first-party property claims with an emphasis on litigation and case management
  • Manage cases in both state and federal courts, from initial filings to trial preparation
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support in case management and legal processes
  • Conduct discovery, depositions, and hearings, as well as prepare motions, petitions, and briefs with minimal supervision
  • Represent clients in trials, including preparing for and presenting evidence in court
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and team members to ensure efficient case management and strategic planning
  • Opportunity to expand business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills within the legal field

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in property-casualty, first-party property, or civil litigation
  • Proven ability to manage cases independently, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Experience supervising or mentoring staff in a legal setting
  • Admission to practice in California; additional state bar memberships are a plus but not required
  • Ability to work remotely and manage a caseload effectively from any location within the U.S.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar membership in California

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and legal writing skills, including motion and brief preparation
  • Experience with case management, discovery processes, and trial preparation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
