A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Insurance Bad Faith and Fraud defense team in California. Duties:

  • Defend clients in insurance bad faith and fraud cases, including Special Investigation Unit (SIU) claims.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, from discovery to trial preparation.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare and file motions, and take depositions.
  • Manage and build cases independently, ensuring that all deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members on case strategy and development.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Maintain communication with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel throughout case progress.

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to the State Bar of California.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in defending insurance bad faith and fraud claims.
  • Experience handling Special Investigation Unit (SIU) claims is highly preferred.
  • Strong background in discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Ability to manage cases with minimal supervision and work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Education:

  • J.D. (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and case management skills.
  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and depositions.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
