Professional Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a seasoned Professional Liability Associate Attorney with substantial experience in managing litigation cases, particularly in professional liability matters such as malpractice cases against attorneys, insurance agents/brokers, accountants, and real estate agents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of professional liability matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular status reports and updates on case developments.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Handle depositions, witness examinations, and oral arguments.
• Analyze legal issues and provide strategic advice to clients on case strategies and potential outcomes.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex litigation matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
• 4+ years of experience in professional liability, accounting malpractice, and/or commercial litigation.
• Proven track record in handling complex litigation cases independently.
• Superior academic credentials demonstrating strong analytical and writing skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate legal concepts clearly and effectively.

Skills and Certifications:

• Experience in professional liability defense litigation is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of California civil procedure and rules of evidence.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
