Mid to Senior-level Energy Project Development Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a mid-to-senior level Associate Attorney to join its Energy, Infrastructure, and Project Finance practice. This role offers the opportunity to advise major players in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on the development, acquisition, and financing of complex energy projects. The ideal candidate will possess significant transactional experience in project development, M&A, or finance matters specific to the energy industry.

Duties

• Represent sponsors and financing entities in transactions related to renewable energy projects

• Draft and negotiate key project development and operation contracts, including:

  • Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Agreements

  • Supply Agreements

  • Offtake Agreements

  • Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Agreements

• Draft and negotiate ancillary documents for:

  • Debt financing

  • Tax equity investments

  • M&A transactions

• Collaborate with internal legal teams and external stakeholders

• Take a lead role in client communications and project management

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the energy industry

• Prior experience at a nationally recognized law firm or equivalent in-house counsel role

• Demonstrated experience in renewable energy project development, finance, or M&A

• Ability to manage complex transactions and work effectively within a team

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a top-tier, accredited law school

• Strong academic performance required

Certifications

• Active admission to a U.S. state bar

• Member in good standing with the bar in the state of residence
