Job Duties

  • Advise clients on compliance with consumer financial regulations at both state and federal levels.
  • Provide counsel on payments and credit products.
  • Address issues related to unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices laws.
  • Assist clients in navigating regulations about mortgage lenders/servicers, FinTech, cryptocurrency, and other digital assets.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memos, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in regulatory proceedings and interactions with regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving consumer financial regulations and industry practices.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff on complex legal issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in consumer financial regulatory matters.
  • Experience with consumer financial regulations, including payments and credit products at the state and federal levels.
  • Knowledge of unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices laws.
  • Experience with emerging platforms, FinTech, mortgage lenders/servicers, cryptocurrency, and other digital assets is a plus.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Unrelenting commitment to client service.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be a member of the DC Bar in good standing.
