Job Title: Condominium and Cooperative Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established law firm in New York City, NY is actively seeking a junior-level attorney to join its Condominium and Cooperative practice group. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with experienced attorneys on a wide range of legal matters relating to condominiums, cooperatives, and related real estate issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in corporate governance, dispute resolution, and real estate law, with a focus on representing condo and co-op boards, sponsor developers, and building owners.

Duties:

  • Represent condo and co-op boards, developers, and property owners in legal matters involving corporate governance.
  • Handle disputes between condo and co-op boards, sponsor developers, contractors, unit owners, and neighboring properties.
  • Draft and review contracts, governing documents, and other legal materials.
  • Provide legal advice regarding local statutes, case law, and real estate regulations affecting condominiums and cooperatives.
  • Assist in resolving conflicts and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws in the real estate sector.
  • Conduct legal research and writing to support client needs and case development.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of legal experience, with a focus on real estate law, condominium, and cooperative practice preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience or interest in corporate governance, dispute resolution, and property law.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the New York State Bar.

Skills:

  • Solid understanding of condominium and cooperative governance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking.
  • Experience with real estate transactions, contracts, and disputes.
