Personal Injury Associate Lawyer

Job Overview:
An established and reputable personal injury law firm in downtown Chicago is seeking an associate attorney with 0-3 years of experience to join their team. The firm represents victims of personal injury in a variety of cases, including automobile accidents, premises accidents, medical malpractice, wrongful death, sexual abuse, and nursing home abuse. The associate attorney will handle all aspects of litigation, from pleadings to trial, in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Location:

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of personal injury cases
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and staff to develop case strategies
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and experts throughout the litigation process

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of experience in personal injury or litigation
• Ability to manage cases independently and work in a team setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to think critically and work under pressure
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Experience with litigation procedures and case management
• Knowledge of personal injury law and relevant legal processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools
• Excellent negotiation and client communication skills
