A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will hold an active U.S. Bar license and have substantial experience in managing complex legal matters. This role involves overseeing the organization and review of legal documents, conducting legal research, drafting various legal documents, and supporting other attorneys. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, review, code, and tag documents for relevance, confidentiality, and privilege.
  • Create, compile, organize, and index exhibits, reports, and physical evidence for use in legal proceedings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents, identifying relevant laws, statutes, regulations, and court opinions.
  • Perform legal research using Lexis Nexis, Westlaw, and other online databases.
  • Support attorneys with discovery processes and communication with opposing counsel.
  • Draft initial versions of motions (e.g., dispositive) and pleadings.
  • Prepare briefs, legal memoranda, and motions, often under tight deadlines.
  • Utilize modern technology and remote office equipment effectively.
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active U.S. bar license in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Substantial experience in legal practice with a focus on managing complex legal matters.
  • Proficiency in using modern technology, including computers and remote office equipment.
  • Access to high-speed internet.
