A well-established law firm in Newport Beach, CA, is seeking an experienced Senior Trust, Estate & Probate Attorney to handle estate planning, special needs planning, trust administration, settlement planning, probate, and conservatorships. This role is ideal for a dedicated legal professional looking for a long-term career with a firm known for its exceptional client service and expertise in estate law. Location:

  • Newport Beach, CA

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including trusts, accounting petitions, petitions for instructions, and conservatorship petitions.
  • Oversee trust drafting, trust administrations, probate cases, and conservatorship cases from initiation to completion.
  • Address probate notes and tentative rulings by preparing necessary supplements.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and firm leadership to ensure smooth case management.
  • Assign tasks to paralegals, legal assistants, and law clerks while supervising their work.
  • Conduct initial client consultations and ongoing case meetings.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through timely and effective communication.
  • Represent clients in hearings and legal proceedings.
  • Work closely with the billing department to prepare and send invoices.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in estate planning, special needs planning, trust administration, conservatorships, or probate.
  • Ability to handle legal matters independently following an orientation and supervision period.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and empathy when dealing with clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, timekeeping, and case management software.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and deadlines.
