Job Title: Entry-Level Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A reputable law firm located in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Entry-Level Immigration Attorney. The successful candidate will handle a diverse caseload, collaborate with legal professionals, and represent clients in immigration proceedings.

Duties:

  • Provide counsel on immigration matters and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent individuals, both detained and non-detained, in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage an active caseload and maintain regular client interaction.
  • Conduct intake with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review immigration packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law developments.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and determine appropriate legal strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a wide range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with associates.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a legal caseload and move cases forward efficiently.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Familiarity with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained clients, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.

Education:

  • Must possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • Licensed to practice law and admitted to the Bar.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in good standing.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients.
