Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategy to clients throughout the litigation process.
  • Develop case strategies and assess the strengths and weaknesses of cases.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage case settlements with opposing counsel.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure case efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare for and attend client meetings, providing updates and legal advice as necessary.
  • Handle administrative duties associated with legal practice, such as billing hours and tracking case progress.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in litigation.
  • Federal Court experience preferred.
  • Strong legal advocacy and writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and solve problems.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to manage cases independently.
  • New York Bar license is required.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
