Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate with 5–7 years of experience to join its Construction & Real Estate Litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes, complex litigation matters related to real estate developments and construction disputes across the United States. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong litigation background, excellent writing skills, and a detail-oriented approach while balancing multiple assignments in a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment.

Duties

  • Represent clients in complex construction and real estate litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions

  • Draft and argue motions, prepare discovery, and handle depositions

  • Provide strategic legal counsel to developers, contractors, owners, and investors in disputes

  • Manage case files, deadlines, and litigation strategy with minimal supervision

  • Collaborate with legal teams to prepare for trial and arbitration

  • Engage directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of relevant litigation experience in construction and/or real estate matters

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and work independently

  • Familiarity with construction contracts, lease disputes, and development agreements

  • Strong research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality legal work in a deadline-driven environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in Indiana or Minnesota, or eligibility for admission

Skills

  • Superior legal writing and analytical abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent communication and client management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple litigation matters concurrently
