Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in the Twin Cities is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join their team. This position will involve comprehensive legal assistance and representation across all phases of immigration, family, and criminal law cases. The ideal candidate will work within a collaborative environment while managing cases from intake through final disposition.

Location:

  • Saint Paul, MN

Duties:

  • Handle all phases of immigration, criminal, and family law cases, from initial intake through to final case disposition.
  • Provide legal representation in immigration and naturalization processes, including but not limited to visa applications, asylum requests, and deportation defense.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient case management and effective representation.
  • Advise clients on legal rights, options, and potential outcomes for various cases.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed case files, meeting deadlines and complying with legal standards.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated interest and experience in working with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases concurrently and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in Spanish preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience or familiarity with working in diverse refugee and immigrant communities is preferred.
