Duties

  • Manage and represent clients in all aspects of family law, including litigation, mediation, and legal consultations
  • Handle cases from inception through trial, providing expert legal guidance throughout
  • Maintain high standards for client communication, ensuring clients are informed, supported, and empowered throughout the process
  • Develop case strategies and work with paralegals and team members to implement plans effectively
  • Attend and represent clients during court hearings, including evidentiary hearings, trials, and mediation
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and complete billing of all legal work
  • Provide sound legal counsel with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients
  • Actively participate in team meetings and continue personal and professional development through knowledge-sharing
  • Maintain clear, empathetic, and transparent communication with clients and colleagues
  • Focus on efficiency and quality in managing case priorities and deadlines
  • Develop negotiation strategies to meet client objectives and execute them during mediation

Requirements

  • Active Utah Bar License in good standing with no disciplinary actions
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in family law, including trial experience and mediation
  • Proven ability to manage and represent clients through complex family law matters
  • Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment with a focus on client service
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in plain language
  • Comfort with courtroom litigation and high-stakes negotiations
  • Proficiency in legal software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Clio, and Zoom
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team and manage a caseload independently

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Utah State Bar

Certifications

  • Utah Bar License (Required)
