Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:

A San Francisco, CA law firm seeks an experienced and highly skilled Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending insurance coverage and/or extracurricular matters, excellent research and writing skills, and a proven track record in handling complex litigation tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defend clients in insurance coverage and extracontractual litigation matters.
• Write detailed coverage opinions and investigate insurance claims.
• Handle written discovery and depositions.
• Draft pleadings and substantive motions.
• Attend mediations and court appearances.
• Assist in trial preparation and support trial proceedings.
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide strategic advice.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations related to insurance coverage and litigation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff within the firm.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of litigation experience, specifically in defending insurance coverage and/or extracurricular matters.
• Proven experience in writing coverage opinions and investigating insurance claims.
• Proficiency in handling written discovery and depositions.
• Experience in drafting pleadings and substantive motions.
• Demonstrated ability to attend mediations and court appearances effectively.
• Trial assistance experience.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar.

Certifications:

• Certification in relevant legal fields is a plus but not required.
