Job Overview:
Hiring on behalf of a plaintiff-side law firm seeking a driven and detail-oriented Employment Litigation Attorney with 4-9 years of experience to join its expanding practice in Washington. The position involves representing employees in legal claims related to Washington wage and hour laws, with a focus on litigating employment-related claims in both federal and state courts, as well as before arbitrators. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, a commitment to advocacy, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Duties:

  • Handle depositions, prepare and argue motions, and conduct arbitrations.
  • Draft meet and confer letters regarding discovery issues and prepare cases for trial.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Communicate with outside parties, including attorneys, employers, and administrative agencies.
  • Manage all aspects of casework, ensuring deadlines are met and cases are organized.
  • Participate in the firm’s expansion into Washington and support the thriving California practice.
  • Prepare for and attend mediations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4-9 years of relevant legal experience, with expertise in wage and hour law.
  • Proven litigation experience, including handling complex cases through all stages of the litigation process.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for client representation and complex legal arguments.
  • Licensed to practice law in Washington State (out-of-state applicants will not be considered).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington State.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills, including pre-litigation investigation, trial preparation, and appeals.
  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
