A law firm in New York City is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in commercial real estate finance litigation and related transactions, or a demonstrated interest in focusing on this area of law. The ideal candidate will also find bankruptcy litigation experience beneficial and desirable. This position requires exceptional research, writing, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage various discovery and motion-related projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on issues pertaining to commercial real estate finance litigation.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, manage document productions, and draft protective orders.
  • Handle deposition preparation and assist in conducting depositions.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for court filings.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and motions in limine.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Manage case files, document organization, and case progress tracking.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate finance litigation preferred.
  • Experience in bankruptcy litigation is a plus.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple discovery projects and motion-related tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
