Senior Personal Injury Attorney

A law firm seeks a Senior Personal Injury Attorney to join its Los Angeles team. This role offers an opportunity to manage complex personal injury cases while focusing on case strategy and professional growth. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in personal injury litigation, including handling depositions, motions, and court hearings. This is a leadership position that provides the chance to mentor junior associates and work closely with other attorneys on trial preparation and case strategy.

Duties

• Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury cases, including those in various stages of litigation.
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, and discovery responses on behalf of clients.
• Draft and send meet-and-confer letters to opposing counsel in response to discovery disputes.
• Prepare clients for depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Take and defend depositions throughout the litigation process.
• Attend court hearings and provide legal representation during proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and attorneys to reach favorable outcomes for clients.
• Supervise and support investigations into assigned litigation matters, including witness interviews and expert consultations.
• Collaborate with other senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide mentorship to junior staff.

Requirements

• Experience:
  • 1-4 years of personal injury law experience, specifically in litigation and discovery.
  • Proven experience in handling depositions, preparing motions, and attending court hearings.
• Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and maintain strong organizational systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Additional Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.
  • Workers' Compensation experience is a plus.
