Family Law Associate Attorney

A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of experience in family law. The ideal candidate will represent clients in legal proceedings, draft legal documents, and provide advice on legal transactions. The role involves court representation, document preparation, settlement negotiations, and compliance with legal standards. The candidate should be licensed and in good standing in Texas, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Represent clients in family law legal proceedings, including court appearances and interactions with government agencies.
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, and settlement agreements on behalf of clients.
• Advise clients on family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and property division.
• Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes through mediation and other alternative dispute resolution methods.
• Ensure compliance with all legal standards, regulations, and ethical practices.
• Perform administrative and management tasks related to the practice of family law.
• Provide the supervising attorney with weekly updates on case status and developments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and personal rapport.
• Maintain thorough and accurate case files and documentation.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in family law preferred.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
• Familiarity with various legal documents and family law procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
