Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Albany, NY, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join its team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, advocacy, and writing skills and be adept at handling federal court cases. This role provides immediate opportunities for direct client interaction and requires a proactive, self-starting individual.

Duties:

• Represent clients in litigation matters, including federal court cases
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Conduct legal research and analyze case law
• Develop and execute litigation strategies
• Provide legal counsel and advice to clients
• Manage case files and ensure compliance with deadlines
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other staff to achieve favorable outcomes
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal developments and changes in relevant laws
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in litigation, with a preference for federal court experience
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
• Proven legal advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Direct client contact experience is preferred
• New York Bar license required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York
