A law firm located in Prairie Village, KS is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join its real estate litigation team. Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload with a focus on meeting court-ordered deadlines and hearing dates.

  • Review, draft, and file legal pleadings and documents.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
  • Prepare discovery requests and responses, collaborating with clients to gather relevant information.
  • Prepare motions, deposition strategies, and trial preparation.
  • Summarize deposition transcripts and assist in trial preparation as needed.
  • Appear in court and represent clients as required.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality of client information throughout the case lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in general litigation.
  • Experience with real estate-related matters, including mechanics' liens, construction issues, tax appeals, and land use is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and navigate conflicts.
  • Ability to advise clients effectively while maintaining a strong and positive relationship.
  • Genuine interest in understanding clients' situations and needs.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Kansas and Missouri.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Word.
  • Familiarity with legal case management software (Clio is a plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities and time management.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking.
