A law firm in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Regulations, Investigations, Securities and Compliance Lawyer to handle a variety of regulatory matters, internal investigations, and compliance issues. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in U.S. export controls, sanctions, customs, and other international trade regulations, along with proficiency in counseling clients, conducting trainings, and developing compliance policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on U.S. export controls (BIS), sanctions (OFAC), customs (including tariffs), and other international trade regulations.
  • Conduct compliance audits and internal investigations related to regulatory matters.
  • Draft and review licensing applications, legal opinions, and regulatory filings.
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures tailored to client needs.
  • Respond to government enforcement actions and inquiries with strategic guidance.
  • Conduct trainings for clients and internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance best practices.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on client operations.
  • Handle investigations related to other areas such as FCPA compliance and national security matters (CFIUS).

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier U.S. law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the DC Bar.
  • Minimum of [X] years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Expertise in U.S. export controls, sanctions, customs, and international trade regulations.
  • Experience with compliance audits, internal investigations, and responding to government enforcement actions.
