A law firm seeks a Senior-Level Real Estate Zoning and Land Use Attorney to provide expert legal counsel and representation on various real estate transactions and complex land use and zoning matters. The ideal candidate will have a solid real estate law foundation, significant experience handling zoning and land use issues, and a proven track record in litigation. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel and representation on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, leasing, financing, and development projects.
  • Handle complex land use and zoning matters such as subdivisions, rezoning applications, variances, conditional use permits, and appeals.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to identify potential issues and develop effective strategies.
  • Draft and negotiate various real estate contracts, including purchase agreements, leases, and development agreements.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, zoning board meetings, and litigation as necessary.
  • Stay current on relevant real estate, land use, and zoning laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to ensure seamless client service.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the NY Bar.
  • 4+ years of experience practicing real estate law, focusing on land use and zoning.
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling complex real estate transactions and land use matters.
  • Litigation background is a plus.
