Job Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking a Real Estate Transactional Associate with 3-6 years of commercial real estate experience to join its Real Estate & Commercial Development Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have experience handling commercial real estate acquisitions, development, financing, leasing, and dispositions. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated legal matters in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Duties

  • Handle commercial real estate acquisitions, developments, financings, leasings, and dispositions.

  • Draft and negotiate complex purchase and sale agreements, easement agreements, and restrictive covenants.

  • Negotiate loan documents for construction and permanent financing.

  • Provide legal counsel to developers, investors, buyers, sellers, landlords, lenders, borrowers, and tenants.

  • Advise on regulatory matters, land use, zoning, and joint ventures.

  • Collaborate with attorneys across multiple legal disciplines, including construction, tax, finance, environmental, and economic development.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of commercial real estate experience.

  • Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, leasing, financing, and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent research, drafting, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to advise clients effectively.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Prior experience in a sophisticated law firm practice is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the North Carolina Bar is required.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
