A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its growing team in Nevada. This full-time, remote opportunity is perfect for an attorney with a strong background in insurance defense, particularly in bodily injury, employment law, and other related insurance matters. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling civil litigation cases through trial, from depositions to settlement negotiations. Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters, with a focus on bodily injury, employment law, and other related areas.
  • Take depositions, attend hearings, and represent clients in oral arguments.
  • Negotiate settlements and draft legal documents, including motions and discovery requests.
  • Provide clients with timely updates and clear guidance throughout the litigation process.
  • Handle all stages of litigation, from pre-trial preparation to trial.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure effective case management and strategy development.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense law.
  • Proven ability to handle civil litigation cases, including taking depositions and attending hearings.
  • Experience in bodily injury defense and employment law is highly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter mentality with a proactive approach to case management.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Nevada (Nevada Bar in Good Standing).
  • Additional licensure in other states is a plus.

Skills:

  • Expertise in insurance defense law, particularly in bodily injury and employment-related matters.
  • Proficiency in civil litigation, from discovery to trial.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in drafting settlement agreements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools, such as Westlaw.
