Job Overview: A law firm in Garden City, NY, is seeking a highly skilled Defense Construction Litigation Labor Law Attorney. This attorney will handle complex defense cases involving Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6) and contractual indemnification issues. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction litigation and a proven track record of managing labor law depositions.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in construction litigation matters involving Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
  • Handle cases involving contractual indemnification issues between parties.
  • Prepare and file motions, coordinate medical examinations, and manage discovery.
  • Take and defend depositions and provide comprehensive deposition testimony.
  • Report case progress to clients and carriers.
  • Appear in court for conferences, motions, and hearings.
  • Develop and implement case strategies and legal arguments.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes effectively.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York Bar is required; New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars are a plus.
  • Substantial experience in construction litigation, with a focus on defense work.
  • Extensive experience handling cases related to Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
  • Proven expertise in managing contractual indemnification issues.

Certifications:

  • New York State Bar admission is required.
  • Additional Bar admissions (New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania) are a plus.
