Job Overview: A reputable law firm based in Seattle, WA, is currently seeking an experienced Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Associate Attorney. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team on cases involving secured and unsecured creditors' rights, receiverships, and bankruptcy litigation. The role will involve managing complex legal matters and collaborating with a diverse client base, including national and regional banks, court-appointed receivers, and purchasers of distressed assets.

Duties:

  • Provide legal assistance to the Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights team.
  • Draft memoranda, loan documents, court briefs, and bankruptcy-related pleadings.
  • Collect and organize financial statements, appraisals, valuations, and relevant statutes for case preparation.
  • Collaborate with the team on state and federal receivership cases.
  • Participate in commercial creditors' rights litigation, including lien enforcement, lender liability claims, and voidable transfer actions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial bankruptcy and creditors' rights.
  • Experience working with secured and unsecured creditors.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent time and project management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a strategic mindset for advancing cases.
  • In-court experience (hearings or trial work) is a plus.

Education:

  • Undergraduate and JD degrees from accredited academic institutions.
  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA).

Certifications:

  • Membership in WSBA is required.
