Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will handle various aspects of litigation, including preparing discovery, attending hearings, drafting pleadings, negotiating settlements, and managing client relationships. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to a diverse caseload while working both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Location:

Duties:

  • Prepare discovery and respond to requests (admissions, disclosures, interrogatories, orders, etc.).
  • Attend and manage hearings, mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, and court proceedings.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and the managing attorney(s) to understand the client's goals.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
  • Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and documents impacting clients.
  • Communicate clearly and logically (both orally and in writing) with regulatory agencies, courts, counsel, clients, and managing attorneys.
  • Handle complex problems with initiative, creativity, and sound professional judgment.
  • Work both independently and as a contributing team member.
  • Manage a caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Build and manage client relationships.
  • Mentor and support staff members.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation (preferred).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with a high level of reliability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex issues.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar (specific jurisdiction requirements may apply).

Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively under stress and manage high-pressure situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
