A law firm in Oakland is seeking a Business and Facilities Associate Attorney to provide transactional and litigation support on various legal matters including real estate transactions, leases, public contracting, construction procurement, disputes, and contract negotiations. The ideal candidate should possess excellent research, writing, and analytical skills and must be a member of the State Bar of California. The firm offers a positive, collegial work environment with reasonable billable hours requirements, billable hours bonuses, annual discretionary bonuses, generous health insurance benefits, and a 401(k) with profit-sharing contributions.

 

Duties:

  • Provide transactional and litigation support on a broad range of legal issues, including real estate transactions, leases, public contracting matters, construction procurement, disputes, and contract negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various substantive legal issues.
  • Draft legal documents, including contracts, leases, agreements, and pleadings.
  • Assist with negotiations and settlements.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and mediations.
  • Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on case strategy and client matters.
  • Manage caseload and deadlines effectively.
  • Maintain communication with clients and provide regular updates on case progress.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to business and facilities law.

 

Requirements:

  • Membership in the State Bar of California.
  • 5+ years of practice experience.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with real estate transactions, public contracting, and construction procurement preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Membership in the State Bar of California.
