Job Overview
A law firm in Tallahassee, FL, is currently seeking a highly motivated Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 4 years of litigation experience, with a strong background in labor and employment law or litigation law. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for representing management in labor and employment-related legal matters, working on cases from inception through trial.

Duties

  • Analyze complex legal issues and conduct extensive legal research.
  • Develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients from inception through trial.
  • Draft pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs to support defense strategies.
  • Provide timely legal advice and services to clients.
  • Communicate professionally with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
  • Participate in claims file reviews.
  • Independently conduct trials, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Attend Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars to maintain professional expertise.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in the state of Florida.
  • 2 to 4 years of legal experience, with state and federal court experience.
  • Experience in labor and employment law or litigation law.
  • Expertise in legal research and motion practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • License to practice law in Florida.

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Trial preparation and presentation.
  • Excellent oral communication and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with case management software (LMS+ preferred).
