A law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an EOIR Immigration Attorney.

 

Job Overview:

The EOIR Immigration Attorney will be responsible for providing legal representation to non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings, preparing diverse immigration applications, and presenting strategic solutions to clients. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage a caseload, and experience with various immigration applications and proceedings.

 

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage workload of cases efficiently.
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers.
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients and determine necessary strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to determine possible case benefits.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.
  • Preferably bilingual in Spanish.
  • Utilize exceptional interpersonal skills in all interactions.
  • Maintain a record of moving legal cases forward and effectively manage a caseload.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

 

Requirements:

1-5 years of Immigration Law Experience.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the California State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Immigration law experience.
  • Case management.
  • Legal research and analysis.
  • Written and oral advocacy.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software.
