Job Overview:
A premier law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team in Plantation, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of state and federal court cases, from pre-trial preparation to trial, including depositions, mediations, and motions. The position requires a strong courtroom presence and a proven track record in handling a large caseload and winning jury trials.

Duties:

  • Meet with clients and file lawsuits.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery.
  • Schedule and attend fact witness depositions.
  • Retain and attend all expert depositions.
  • Schedule and attend hearings.
  • Prepare for and attend mediations.
  • Prepare cases for trial and represent clients in court.
  • Prepare and file appropriate post-trial motions.
  • Participate in file audits, litigation attorney meetings, and trial clinics.

Requirements:

  • A license in good standing to practice law in Florida.
  • Minimum of 2 jury trials as first chair, with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to handle a large and active caseload from filing to verdict.
  • Experience providing direction and guidance to a team of staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Analytical and research skills.
  • A strong courtroom presence and eagerness to try cases.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Florida State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills, particularly in handling jury trials.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload effectively.
  • Leadership and mentorship abilities for working with staff.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and research skills.
  • Ability to prepare and argue motions, attend hearings, and conduct depositions.
