Associate Attorney Insurance Defense

A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney with experience in insurance defense to join their team in Chicago, IL. This full-time, hybrid position offers the opportunity to handle personal injury claims, insurance coverage issues, and general litigation. Duties:

• Represent clients in insurance defense matters, including personal injury claims and insurance coverage disputes.
• Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents related to litigation.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients, ensuring their best interests are represented.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and development.
• Manage case files independently, including maintaining deadlines and ensuring proper case progression.
• Handle all aspects of discovery, including propounding and responding to written discovery requests.
• Keep clients informed on case progress, updates, and potential legal strategies.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in insurance defense, personal injury claims, or litigation.
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work as part of a legal team while also demonstrating independence in managing a caseload.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents, motions, and other litigation-related materials.
• Attention to detail and the ability to handle complex legal matters.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Illinois Bar license required.
