The ideal candidate will have industry experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to handle patent-related tasks independently.

Duties

  • Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Analyze patent and scientific documents to support patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation.
  • Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
  • Collaborate with patent attorneys to manage patent portfolios and provide strategic patent advice.

Requirements

  • At least one year of law firm experience.
  • Industry experience and knowledge in chemical engineering or material science.
  • Broad technical understanding of mechanical and/or biomedical engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Education

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, bioelectrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree preferred.

Certifications

  • Registered as a US patent agent or eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam.

Skills
