A law firm seeks a dedicated and proactive Intake Attorney to join their team in South Carolina. This role is integral to managing the initial client intake process for civil claims. The Intake Attorney will evaluate potential cases, interact with prospective clients, and determine whether the firm will represent them or refer them to a trusted partner. The position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney passionate about helping people in need and ensuring clients receive the best legal support.

Duties

  • Evaluate incoming civil claims to assess the feasibility and potential value for representation
  • Serve as the first point of contact for potential clients, providing preliminary legal guidance and explaining the firm’s services
  • Refer appropriate cases to the firm’s trusted referral partners for prosecution
  • Manage client intake calls and assist clients with their inquiries after hours or on weekends as needed
  • Document case details and conduct preliminary legal research to inform decisions
  • Log and track client information using Litify and other case management tools
  • Collaborate with the New Client Specialists, Case Opening Coordinator, and Case Managers to ensure a seamless transition of cases
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the intake process for greater efficiency
  • Participate in daily and monthly firm-wide meetings and contribute ideas for process enhancements
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support firm operations

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in any state Bar Association, in good standing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with potential clients effectively
  • High level of organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Salesforce or Litify case management software is a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including after-hours and weekends as needed

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active state Bar membership

  • Ability to assess and prioritize claims quickly and accurately
  • Proficiency in case management tools (Salesforce/Litify experience preferred)
