The role involves working on high-stakes financial transactions and providing expert legal counsel to clients in private equity, acquisition, and leveraged finance.

Duties

  • Represent clients in borrower-side private credit and acquisition finance transactions.
  • Advise on leveraged finance matters, including structuring and negotiating loan agreements.
  • Collaborate with sponsor-side private equity clients to facilitate acquisition financings.
  • Conduct due diligence and draft, review, and negotiate financing documents.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on complex financial structures and transactions.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of deals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in borrower-side private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance.
  • Preferred experience in sponsor-side private equity acquisition financings.
  • Strong understanding of financial and legal principles related to private equity finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with precision and efficiency.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission to the Illinois Bar.
