A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Associate Attorney to join its team in Torrance, California. The ideal candidate will have a background in estate planning, with experience in drafting key legal documents such as trusts, wills, and advanced healthcare directives. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work in elder law, assisting clients with trust administration, asset protection, and other related matters. Duties:

  • Document Preparation & Legal Research:
    • Draft and review key estate planning documents, including revocable/irrevocable trusts, wills, durable powers of attorney, advance health care directives, and HIPAA documents.
    • Conduct research on estate planning and elder law matters to support case strategies and document preparation.
  • Client Management:
    • Manage client files, ensuring all records are organized and up-to-date.
    • Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and answering legal inquiries.
    • Build strong, trusting relationships with clients through effective communication and a client-centered approach.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Prepare legal documents and ensure smooth communication between clients and the firm.
    • Coordinate with other attorneys and staff to handle complex cases efficiently.
    • Handle other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements:

  • Licensing:
    • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in estate planning, trust administration, or elder law is preferred, but not mandatory.
    • Familiarity with drafting and reviewing wills, trusts, and powers of attorney is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Exceptional attention to detail in legal documentation.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • A team player who works well under pressure and can collaborate effectively with others.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • California Bar License (required).

  • Estate Planning: Knowledge in drafting legal documents related to trusts, wills, healthcare directives, and powers of attorney.
  • Client Relations: Ability to build rapport with clients and provide exceptional customer service.
