Job Overview:

A reputable law firm is currently seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join its Tarrytown, NY office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated lawyer to handle complex cases in the areas of professional liability and labor & employment law. You will gain hands-on experience and be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working closely with partners to deliver high-quality legal services to clients.

Key Duties:

• Represent clients through all phases of litigation, from case initiation to expert discovery, in professional liability and labor & employment matters.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, case management conferences, and other legal proceedings.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and discovery investigations.
• Draft legal documents including motions, discovery requests, case evaluations, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
• Review discovery responses and deposition transcripts, preparing summaries and litigation updates.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel for favorable settlements.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing legal analysis and progress updates throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

• NY litigation experience required.
• Must be a member of the New York Bar.
• Demonstrated experience drafting discovery documents, leading depositions, and arguing motions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage a fast-paced, demanding workload.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with Lexis legal software.

Education:

• J.D. (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the New York State Bar.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of civil procedure in both state and federal courts.
• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Experience handling complex litigation matters.
• Excellent client communication and negotiation skills.
