A law firm seeks a dedicated Environmental Law Associate Attorney to join its environmental litigation and regulatory compliance team in Philadelphia, PA. This boutique firm specializes in environmental law, handling complex matters involving Superfund, hazardous waste management, and toxic tort claims. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in environmental litigation and regulatory compliance, with a focus on representing corporate and municipal clients in disputes related to environmental contamination and regulatory enforcement. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact cases, including government enforcement actions and property redevelopment projects.

Duties:

  • Litigate environmental disputes and toxic tort claims, representing corporate and municipal clients.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Take depositions and participate in discovery processes.
  • Coordinate with federal and state environmental agencies on regulatory compliance matters.
  • Work closely with environmental experts on technical aspects of cases.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings and appeals related to agency actions.
  • Assist with environmental compliance, including matters related to Superfund, TSCA, and hazardous waste management.
  • Advise clients on environmental risk management, property redevelopment, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in environmental litigation or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with environmental statutes such as CERCLA (Superfund), TSCA, and RCRA preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and work with a team of attorneys, experts, and agency representatives.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, agencies, and opposing counsel.
  • Litigation experience, including taking depositions and participating in hearings, is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in environmental law and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong research and legal writing abilities.
  • Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations and agencies.
  • Ability to handle complex litigation and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
