A law firm in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse range of tasks related to personal injury claims, including client communication, drafting negotiation packages, and supervising personnel. The role requires expertise in the claims process, including handling caseloads, developing business, negotiating settlements, and managing subrogation claims and liens. The position may involve some court appearances and travel. The candidate must be admitted and licensed to practice law in North Carolina and be an active member in good standing with the NC State Bar.

Duties:

  • Manage and oversee personal injury claims from inception to resolution.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates and gather information.
  • Draft and review negotiation packages and settlement agreements.
  • Supervise and mentor paralegals and support staff.
  • Handle all aspects of the claims process, including managing caseloads, negotiating settlements, and addressing subrogation claims and liens.
  • Develop new business opportunities and maintain client relationships.
  • Appear in court as necessary and represent the firm in legal proceedings.
  • Travel to meet clients, attend court sessions, or other professional obligations as required.

Requirements:

  • Admitted and licensed to practice law in the State of North Carolina.
  • Active member in good standing with the NC State Bar.
  • 1-5 years of prior law firm experience handling Plaintiff personal injury matters.
  • Proven ability to manage a large caseload effectively.
  • Strong experience in negotiating settlements and managing third-party interests.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must hold a valid North Carolina law license.
  • Certification in personal injury law or related areas is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
  • Proficient in managing and supervising legal support staff.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and a high volume of cases.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools and case management software.
