A highly reputable AmLaw100 law firm is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy and Restructuring Associate to join its Real Estate group in either the Atlanta, GA or Nashville, TN office. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with 2 to 5 years of experience in complex bankruptcy and transactional restructuring, particularly with Chapter 11 proceedings. As part of a collaborative and dynamic team, the selected candidate will provide counsel to national financial institutions, manage high-profile restructuring cases, and contribute to a thriving legal environment.

Duties

  • Serve as counsel to national financial institutions in bankruptcy and restructuring matters.
  • Handle complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and transactional restructuring projects.
  • Provide litigation support, as needed, for restructuring matters.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on high-stakes cases in the real estate finance and capital markets sectors.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including bankruptcy petitions, motions, and restructuring plans.
  • Contribute to business development activities and the firm’s growth.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in bankruptcy and restructuring law, specifically with Chapter 11 complex bankruptcy and transactional restructuring.
  • Experience with litigation in the bankruptcy context is required.
  • Admission to the state Bar of Georgia or Tennessee (or eligibility to waive into the respective bar).
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia or Tennessee.
