A law firm seeks an accomplished securities attorney to join its Investment Funds Group in Short Hills, NJ. This is a professional-track role (non-partnership) ideal for an attorney with substantial experience in structured securities offerings within the commercial real estate sector. The successful candidate will represent a diverse range of clients, including REITs, public and private real estate firms, and institutional investors, across various transactions involving acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, financings, and property developments.

Duties:

  • Lead and oversee structured securities offerings, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with client objectives.
  • Represent clients in a wide array of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, restructuring, complex financings, and property development.
  • Provide strategic guidance on real estate finance and investment structuring to enhance client portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate with clients, partners, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient transaction processes.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support complex financial transactions and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of experience in managing structured securities offerings, with a strong focus on commercial real estate law.
  • In-depth knowledge of real estate finance, acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices for structuring real estate investments.
  • Prior experience with a reputable law firm, preferably within the AmLaw 100.
  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar.

  • Excellent judgment and business acumen for complex decision-making.
