A law firm seeks an experienced healthcare regulatory associate to join its Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of expertise in healthcare regulatory matters, focusing on reimbursement compliance and transactional due diligence. This role is perfect for a motivated professional looking to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Provide legal guidance on reimbursement matters, including compliance, coding, coverage, and payment for innovative products and services.
  • Conduct comprehensive transactional due diligence and assist in documentation and negotiations for emerging companies, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets.
  • Advise clients on fraud and abuse regulations and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to create effective regulatory strategies tailored to their specific needs.
  • Stay updated on current regulations and market trends impacting the healthcare sector.
  • Draft and review various legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in healthcare regulatory law.
  • Strong understanding of reimbursement compliance and transactional processes.
  • Preferred experience in fraud and abuse counseling and compliance.
  • Exceptional analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple responsibilities effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic performance is preferred.

Certifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in CA.

Skills

  • Proficient in legal research and regulatory analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of clearly articulating complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating regulatory documents effectively.
