Duties:

  • Engage in patent prosecution activities, including drafting and filing patent applications.
  • Collaborate with inventors and legal teams to understand and assess inventions.
  • Conduct legal research to support patent prosecution strategies.
  • Assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications before the USPTO.
  • Evaluate and respond to office actions and other communications from the USPTO.
  • Provide technical expertise in electrical engineering, physics, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering, with a focus on medical devices or wireless communications/networking.
  • Collaborate with senior patent professionals in the development and execution of patent strategies.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
  • Ideal candidates will have an electrical engineering degree; candidates with physics, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering degrees and relevant experience are encouraged.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Superior writing ability.
  • USPTO admission required.
  • State Bar admission in the jurisdiction of practice, preferably in Pennsylvania or the District of Columbia, or eligibility to waive-in.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering.
