Duties:

• Provide transactional tax support, with a focus on the energy industry.

• Draft partnership agreements, tax opinions, and other transactional tax documents.

• Advise clients on energy-related tax structures, partnerships, and compliance matters.

• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to address complex tax issues.

• Participate in professional organizations, as well as writing and speaking opportunities.

• Manage relationships with clients and provide expert legal advice on tax matters.

• Work in a team-oriented environment with both firm colleagues and clients.

Requirements:

• Mid- to senior-level associate (4-7 years of experience).

• Strong experience in transactional tax practice, particularly in the energy industry.

• Experience in drafting partnership agreements, tax opinions, and related tax documents.

• Law firm experience is preferred, though experience in large accounting firms will also be considered.

• Strong academic credentials and expertise in tax law.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be licensed and in good standing in the jurisdiction in which the candidate will practice.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Strong academic performance is required.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction of the office location.

Skills:

• Expertise in transactional tax matters, particularly in the energy sector.

• Strong knowledge of partnership tax law and the ability to draft tax opinions.

• Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.

• Effective communication skills with clients and colleagues.

• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple complex matters.
