Job Overview:
A prominent family law firm is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated attorney to join its Springfield, IL office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide strategic legal support in family law matters, including divorce, legal separation, paternity actions, and estate planning, among other related issues. Location:

Duties:

  • Prepare and draft legal documents for filing with appropriate entities and necessary correspondence.
  • Draft pleadings and motions, including judgments and orders.
  • Correspond with attorneys, court personnel, and clients regarding cases.
  • Interview witnesses for court cases and prepare them to testify.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all legal documents.
  • Appear promptly in court for all assigned cases.
  • Handle all aspects of assigned cases from start to finish.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, mailing, and organizing legal files and pleadings.
  • Conduct legal research on specific case issues.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active IL state bar license required.
  • Family law experience preferred but not required.
  • Senior Associate positions available for attorneys with five or more years of litigation experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and collaborate effectively with a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • IL State Bar membership required.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal writing, document drafting, and pleadings.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with clients and court personnel.
  • Ability to handle a full caseload and attend court appearances regularly.
  • Trial experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
